They focus on hand eye coordination for control of movement and using small muscles on the hand to manipulate objects such as rice and pencils.

They can also be a lot of fun for children! Here are a few easy activities to get you started.

You can also get creative with your practical life activities.

Try making a obstacle course for children to navigate, or setting up a sensory table with different materials for children to explore.

Wiping the Table: This is a great activity for children of all ages.

Begin by showing your child how to wipe the table properly.

They will need to use both hands to do this, and they should use a back and forth motion.

Once your child has mastered this, have them try it on their own.

You can also add in some fun tasks, such as wiping up spilled water or drawing with chalk on the table.

Show your child how to water the plants properly, and explain that they need to be gentle when doing so.

If your child is old enough, have them try it on their own.

They can also experiment with different types of plants and water containers.

Dust: This is a great activity for toddlers and preschoolers.

Pouring Juice: This is a great activity for teaching children how to pour liquids.
