Montessori Culture is a subject that covers several subjects.
One of them is the wonderful subject of Montessori Geography.
Children learn through many different ways, but young children learn best with visual and hands-on materials.
So, as you put together your Culture studies together and plan lesson and materials, keep this in mind.
In this post, we will be going into one Montessori inspired section of the Cultural curriculum that involves country flags.
This section is learning national flags of the world, so let’s get into this great discussion.

Montessori Geography
Geography is one of many children’s favorite subjects.
It is true in our home, for sure.
One of the reasons why is because country flags are so intriguing and very unique.

3-Part Cards are very popular in some Montessori circles.
This that haven’t gotten into them is because they don’t know how to use them or find the value in them.
Let me tell you: they are amazing and I am a big advocate of having 3-part cards in the Montessori classroom.

There are many reasons why, but I will only name a few:
- They..
- – save space because they are paper
- – are visual
- – are hands-on
- – have a control of error
So… have you heard about Montessori 3-Part Cards?
Have you used them at all in Your Montessori environment?
If you haven’t heard of them or used them yet, you have to!
Trust me!

It merges well with some Practical life activities and some History activities as well.
I have been shocked how quickly my children have learned the Montessori continents using 3-part cards.
And I have been in awe of how quickly they learned these 20 country flags, too!

What is even more fun, you can then merge both lessons and place the continent 3-part cards in a row and then place the corresponding flag cards below each continent.
Doesn’t that sound like a great idea for a series of Geography lessons?
Children can also use the cards to copy them and draw them themselves.
They can color them and label their own hand-drawn flags.
They will be so proud and will enjoy displaying them!
